About the book

  • Mr. Friedman explains how global warming, rapidly growing populations, and the expansion of the middle class through globalization have led to a dangerously unstable planet which is “hot, flat and crowded.” He then analyzes how a green revolution can bring about a more sustainable global environment.
  • In the book, Mr. Friedman highlighted the needs of leading the world in radically innovating towards cleaner energy. He mentioned that if we do not act quickly and collectively, climate change and the rising competition for energy will poison our world.
  • Mr. Friedman proposed that a strategy— which he calls “Geo-Greenism”—is not only what we need to save the planet from overheating; it is what we need to make America and the rest of the world better.
